Migraine
headaches are caused by a lack of blood in the brain. This happens when blood
vessel in the neck get "squeezed" so blood can't flow easily though
them. The brain does not get enough blood that carries oxygen, and there it is,
a migraine.
Like
many other dysfunctions in your body, migraine headache can have psychological
and physiological causes.
People
that get migraine headaches from psychological causes are usually very tense,
stressed and worried. The more they get stressed, the more their muscles squeeze
their veins. They will feel pain in other parts of the body as a result of
impaired blood flow, but none of them compare to a migraine.
There
are two physiological causes of migraine: food and hormones. Since food is a
major cause of hormonal unbalance, it is safe to claim that most of
physiological migraines are caused by food. Exception to this are migraines
caused by pregnancy and birth control pills.
